Need help with Pattern? Email [email protected] and we will get back to you. Telling us your phone model and Android version helps a lot.
How Pattern works
Everything you see is generated from the small CORE square in the middle of the screen. Pattern takes those pixels and mirrors them across the whole display. Move the phone slowly and the pattern breathes with you — the smaller the core, the finer and more intricate the result.
Common questions
The screen shows a colourful texture instead of my camera. That is the built-in demo texture, shown when the camera permission was declined or is unavailable. Grant the camera permission in Android Settings → Apps → Pattern → Permissions → Camera.
Do I have to allow the camera? No. The app works without it, using the demo texture. But the camera is the whole point — that is where the pattern comes from.
Is my camera recorded or uploaded? No. The camera image is used only to draw each frame on your device and is never stored or transmitted. See the Privacy Policy.
Where are my photos and videos? In the in-app gallery (grid icon, top right). They are stored inside the app on your device. Tap one to view it full-screen, then Share to send it to another app or Delete to remove it.
Uninstalling the app deleted my captures. Yes — captures live only inside the app. Share anything you want to keep before uninstalling.
The pattern will not stop moving while I try to frame a shot. Tap Freeze. That holds the image still so you can compose, then capture.
Videos are limited to a few seconds. That is intentional in this version; short loops are what the app is built for.
It runs slowly or the screen is black. Pattern needs WebGL2 and a working GPU. Close other heavy apps and restart it. If it still fails, email us your device model — that report genuinely helps.
Feature requests
We read every message. If you want more mirror modes, longer videos, or anything else, tell us — that is how the next version gets planned.
